Congratulations Karyn Burnham on winning the Cycle Retreats holiday……very deserving winner!!
Well it’s all over! Phew and sleep ……..What a blast we had, tremendous hard work from everyone involved but absolutely worth every minute. It was fabulous to see so many women coming together and supporting each other, we really are a force to be reckoned with. Huge congratulations if you took part as a rider, from the feedback we have received to date it seems that you all had a great time and achieved some personal victories – chapeau! Thank you so much to all our sponsors – we couldn’t have done it without you. From donations to our feed stations to the mechanical support out on the routes, every single one of you had a huge part to pay in making our day a success – thank you. I’d like to also take a moment to thank our own Yorkshire Lasses, we have lots of members in our club which includes a special group who always go the extra mile to support each other and events like our sportive. It’s lovely to see and even better to be a part of – thank you lasses.
Below are some lovely words of thanks which we have received, it means so much – thank you all in return. Until next time……… x
Bury Clarion Ladies all had a great time. Brilliant event. A LOT of hard work very apparent. Hats off to all the organisers and volunteers x
I have too many people to thank to name you all individually, so I just want to say an enormous thank you to literally everyone riding and volunteering and cooking and sponsoring and donating as you help me live my best life, not only during the Sportive, but every day as every single penny you raise helps a breast cancer survivor like me live longer. You are all amazing and I count myself lucky that you are in my life xx 🚴♀️💙🥰😘🙏 xx when you do this, you help people YLCC ❤️ Judith Worrall, Jane Jones, Fiona Burrell
‘I’d like to thank all the members of the Queensbury Queens club (QQOM), including your support team. Your cheering on of all the riders, and your welcome back reception down the finish drive for everybody taking part was awesome! Thank you for your energy, enthusiasm and help during our Sportive!
Another huge THANK YOU to add to the pile!! 😃 It was my first time and I (only just managed not to have a heart attack when I) cycled the 60 route. As a member of the Queensbury Queens I’ve often heard fellow Queens talk about the affinity with the YLCC, and I’ve met lots of you wonderful ladies in singles or small groups. But this weekend was the first time I saw what you guys do as a collective and it was absolutely wonderful! 😀 I joined for the 60, panicked and changed my registration down to the 30 the evening before……and then changed my mind back to the 60 on the day!! No one batted an eyelid and it all went smoothly. The Pasta Party was delicious and fun and the cheesecake was THE BEST I HAVE EVER TASTED (can someone please hug the Cook on my tastebuds’ behalf!🤤). I camped Sat and Sun nights and all the facilities were good and I had an absolute blast. The Marshalls, spectators and food stops were perfect and I was never unsure of the route through road markings or on the route I downloaded. I could go on and on but suffice to say that as far as my experience, everything went perfectly smoothly (though I’m sure it didn’t from your end!!). I’ll definitely be back next year….honing my Queeny Noise making skills at the Finish Line. Thank you for a wonderful weekend YLCC, you are all total rockstars!!! 🤩 xx #yorkshirelasssportive2019#bestcheesecakeofmylife
‘Thank you so much for your fantastic organisation for yesterday’s Sportiv. It was the hardest thing I have ever done and I was completely broken!
But I could never have got hungry because the feed stops were great, I could never have got lost because the signs were so good. I felt reassured by the extra little arrows on the long roads, the warnings of steep descents and most importantly the back up crew who supported, cheered and kept us going right to the very end! Honestly massive kudos to you all. Thank you.’
Amazing event yesterday…organised to absolute perfection and with wonderful camaraderie!!! Huge thanks to everyone who helped make it the brilliant day that it was. And a big shout out to those Yorkshire Lads – great signage and great fun!!!’
‘So I might not be the first, but it’s no less true, it has been an amazing event. From the organisation to the ride and the after care you we all perfect. Shout out to all involved and to their families who may have felt slightly neglected, just a huge thank you. Thanks to all the other riders who were all kind, supportive and generous with their attitude. I think I might have been the only ebike but would like to encourage others to consider it as an option. It’s not a race and obviously it’s not an identical ride. I did the 30 last year on a standard bike, this year 30 on my ebike (only 2weeks old so it’s first proper ride out). The confidence it gave me makes me know 100% that next year its 60 for me. Thank you to the organisers who were thoughtfully enough to allow e-bikes meaning that its an even more inclusive event.’
Thank you to our sponsors and these guys in our ‘event village’ – it was lovely meeting you all.
Thank you to our marshals, ride angels and volunteers at the feed stations – always smiling x
UNTIL NEXT TIME……..HAPPY CYCLING!
