They are kindly being sponsored by the family of Janet Freeman.
Janet sadly died of Lung cancer in 2014. Her son Paul heard about our event and wanted to support the event in his mums memory. The medal will bear her name and Paul wanted to tell everyone a little bit about his mum.
In November 2013 it was discovered that Janet had lung cancer and she passed on just 13 weeks later in early February 2014, around two weeks after her 64th birthday.
Janet worked at Pocklington School as Lollipop Lady which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was extremely popular with the pupils and staff at the school and they formed a guard of honour when her hearse passed by the school following the funeral.
Her family are extremely proud to be able to sponsor the Janet Freeman Memorial medal for this years event.
