Congratulations Alison Mattocks on winning the Cycle Retreats holiday……we’re not jealous…..honest!!
Well it’s all over! Sob, sniff……..What a blast we had, tremendous hard work from everyone involved but absolutely worth every minute. It was fabulous to see so many women coming together and supporting each other, we really are a force to be reckoned with. Huge congratulations if you took part as a rider, from the feedback we have received to date it seems that you all had a great time and achieved some personal victories – chapeau! Thank you so much to all our sponsors – we couldn’t have done it without you. From donations to our feed stations to the mechanical support out on the routes, every single one of you had a huge part to pay in making our day a success – thank you. I’d like to also take a moment to thank our own Yorkshire Lasses, we have 126 members in our club which includes a special group who always go the extra mile to support each other and events like our sportive. It’s lovely to see and even better to be a part of – thank you lasses.
Below are some lovely words of thanks which we have received, it means so much – thank you all in return. Until next time……… x
‘Thank you just doesn’t seem enough! Yesterday was such an amazing day for us, it was made amazing not because we cycled 100 miles but because of all the fantastic people that supported us on the journey! Everyone we met was so incredibly nice, every feed station, the support guys, the fantastic ride angel Judith Cooke and every single Yorkshire Lass that cheered us in. I can’t imagine how proud you all feel for organising such an amazing event and raising money to help others. You really all are making a difference.
We will definitely be back next year! ❤️’
‘Thankyou for a marvellous day yesterday. Made new friends, enjoyed some cracking hills, and scenery just breathtaking.
Organisation was AMAZBOBS! Thank you Yorkshire Lass ladies. See you next year.. And I’ll bring all my friends along too.’
‘Thank you to all those amazing Yorkshire lasses and all the other special people that gave their time to make this sportive possible. It was a fab event, great route, faultless organisation and just a lovely atmosphere’
‘Thank you so much for your fantastic organisation for yesterday’s Sportiv. It was the hardest thing I have ever done and I was completely broken!
But I could never have got hungry because the feed stops were great, I could never have got lost because the signs were so good. I felt reassured by the extra little arrows on the long roads, the warnings of steep descents and most importantly the back up crew who supported, cheered and kept us going right to the very end! Honestly massive kudos to you all. Thank you.’
‘Flippin’ ‘Eck! – What a great ride…
Echo everyone’s thanks to the organisers and marshals/ volunteers but also special shout out to the great girls we rode with along the way from the first fast 30, to the encouragement and curses and camaraderie of the middle hills, including one of the most beautiful roads I’ve ever ridden to the Moor side feed station, to the only semi truthful “it’s pretty flat” (for Yorkshire maybe, but in Essex those are hills!) last 25.
Finally…please pass my most heartfelt thanks to the wonderful sports masseuse who took away the pain in my legs at the end…brilliant.
Hopefully see you all next year…’
‘Amazing event yesterday…organised to absolute perfection and with wonderful camaraderie!!! Huge thanks to everyone who helped make it the brilliant day that it was. And a big shout out to those Yorkshire Lads – great signage and great fun!!!’
‘So I might not be the first, but it’s no less true, it has been an amazing event. From the organisation to the ride and the after care you we all perfect. Shout out to all involved and to their families who may have felt slightly neglected, just a huge thank you. Thanks to all the other riders who were all kind, supportive and generous with their attitude. I think I might have been the only ebike but would like to encourage others to consider it as an option. It’s not a race and obviously it’s not an identical ride. I did the 30 last year on a standard bike, this year 30 on my ebike (only 2weeks old so it’s first proper ride out). The confidence it gave me makes me know 100% that next year its 60 for me. Thank you to the organisers who were thoughtfully enough to allow e-bikes meaning that its an even more inclusive event.’
Thank you to our sponsors and these guys in our ‘event village’ – it was lovely meeting you all.
Thank you to our marshals, ride angels and volunteers at the feed stations – always smiling x
Congratulation Lesley Charlson on winning a Nikky Corker original!
UNTIL NEXT TIME……..HAPPY CYCLING!
