The May Day Bank Holiday weekend saw a lot of action for the YLCC Lasses.
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were flooded with pictures of lasses on their bikes enjoying the great British sunshine. If we weren’t on our bikes we were watching the TDY on the tv – some of us were on the tv supporting TDY riders from the sidelines!
A group of lasses took part in the Maserati ride – helmets off to them in such heat! Another group took on our very own YLCC 60 mile challenge – ‘Enjoy Thissen’ – one of three options in this years YLCC sportive. They were greeted with beautiful views of the famous White Horse. The regular YLCC Sunday rides also took place with some local hill training – great for those Lasses going on the YLCC trip to Majorca – the group completed: Windmill Hill, Town Hill, Jewitt Lane, Bardsey School Hill, Bardsey Bank, Shadwell, Moor Allerton Golf Club, Thorner Church Hill, Wothersome Bump, Sicklinghall Climb, Kirkby Overblow and Little Ribston Bump.
The heat for everyone was intense and the challenge of the rides was sufficient but the opportunity to manage hydration and food intake was welcomed and all Lasses stayed safe and supported each other throughout.
Well done – let the sun keep shining 🙂
