YLCC was set up in March 2015 by Kate Horsfall and Judith Worrall. The intention was to encourage ladies of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes and have fun whilst at the same time getting fit and meet new friends.
The Yorkshire Lass Cycle Club was born and in just a few short months the club had over 60 ladies. YLCC are now a club of over 100 ladies and are going from strength to strength with four very successful sportive’s under their belts.
In early 2018 Judith stepped down from her responsibilities within the club and Kate now drives the club forward.
2019 looks set to be another fabulous year on 2 wheels!

You will often see a sea of blue at sportives – the lasses wear their kit with pride and are full of support and encouragement for each other.
Some of the Lasses recently took part in filming for BBC Breakfast in Pateley Bridge for the upcoming UCI Sportive, to be held in conjunction with the UCI Road World Championships in September. Then going on to tackle Greenhow Hill with BBC’s Mike Bushell.
The secret to the clubs success is that we are just all normal ladies (ok well some of us are a bit bonkers!) with busy lives, family and work commitments. We are not super fit athletes, we are just a group of ladies who like to meet up and ride our bikes – we may also stop for a cuppa and cake a catchup and a giggle ………
